Words in CIR are supporting high skilled. At the same time Schumer mentioned that they will not allow companies to replace Americans with lower wage foreign workers. You can easily get the meaning of it. First CIR need to be introduced. And it needs to seen What CIR will offer for high skilled immigrants. Many lobbying groups waiting with laundry list of demands for them. Basically every group wants unlimited guest workers and green cards. Someone in congress has to take leadeship initiatives without politics and without any bias. Then only CIR is feasible

I just came back from doc..and he charged 400 dollars (xray will cost more in next few days. Anyways, he says he need to administer Tetnus 3 times (6 months apart).
I am not sure what he will say in report (which i get in couple of days). But my question to you all is :
When Shots are given with time lag, Is 485 processed normally or RFE happens or do USCIS just wait for all shots to be completed and submission of report by doc before they process anything?

Department of State, Bureau of Immigration statistics will have that information publicly available to all who want it.

As per the new proposed law:
Total EB visa 290,000
EB-1 EB-2 EB-3
# Visa issued to each categories
43500 43500 101500
Max No of visa can be issued to each county ( India) 10%
77000 among EB-1, EB-2, EB-3
10% of Total EB + FB visa is 770000.
Please refer to Visa Bulletin April, 2006, where the distribution of visa is clearly explained with example.

The worldwide level for annual employment-based preference immigrants is at least 140,000. My company informed me today that, when spouse is added to the insurence, the insurence will start from day 1 of next month. My wife will be comming in the middle of month. How to cover this gap with insurence...?? Any suggestions...????

As msp1976 pointed out above, attached your 140 receipt and ask for three year extension.
Can extension for H1B be applied for three or one year if Labor is approved under PERM in a week and I-140 is applied and pending for approval.

You could apply to change status from L-1 to H-1B while staying in the US. If the L-1 expires while the change of status is pending, however, you could not work during the gap.
You should not have a problem getting a H-1B visa in India. Have you thought about Canada or Mexico either?
My L1 visa is expiring on Nov5 2009 and If I have file my COS status in mid of oct and it's in pending status at the time of my L1 visa expiry date then will i be able to stay in US or do i have to go back india

Thanks guys for your replies. My employer has more than 100 consultants and I think it is a stable financially. I never had any problems in my salary. I was paid on time always.

I do not know my PD. But my labor was filed sometime in Dec 2006.

Hi,
I was in a similar situation back in 2006. I got my visa stamping for my future H1-B but at the POE, the officer stamped my I-94 only till the end of current H1-B. But he mentioned that I can go to the nearby CBP office and get it changed once my current H1-B expires. And I did exactly the same. No issues.

I have a valid H-1B valid till 18th feb 2011 for employment with my previous employer. I had changed employment and now have I797C for the new employer valid till Nov 2011. I plan to go to India and be back in 1 week, my employer would issue me a leave approval letter. My present employer is a big hospital-non profit and I am a health professional.
Can some one tell if would need to get a new visa stamped if I come back by 15th January 2011. What documents should I carry. Should I talk to a lawyer before I leave. My mom is stable now but I am afraid If dont go now, I might not be able to gor a long time as I dont want to get re-stamping done.
Please advice
Just GO ....and stay for a longer time (atleast a month !!!)...r u a doctor or a nurse ..either way you are in a profession which will always be in demand

Congrats and thank you for your contributions. Do visit IV to continue your support and offer answers to members. We want more GC members so that in the coming future we can launch an effort on items that help in citizenship. For example, time for citizenship be counted from the date of I140 approval. There can be others if we have more GC members and we all brainstorm on ideas.

Did he say anything about Aug 28, 2007 falling out of Aug 17, 2007 limit date for filing AOS and can that cause any issues?
