I recently started work with a new employer using my EAD. I have a pending RFE on my 485 which I have to respond to in a couple of weeks. However, today I noticed that my 485 got a soft LUD of the day following the day I started with my new employer. My new employer uses eVerify but I didnt expect that it could be linked with a pending 485. Maybe I am wrong but I see no reason for the USCIS to touch my 485 until I have responded to the RFE.
Has anyone else noticed something similar when you started with a new employer using eVerify?

this is not consistent. I just booked appt for my in laws yesterday 54 year old but did not get 157 pop up just 156. hope this helps.
you can log in to the vfs website and see if a DS157 is available for filling in. If yes, then just fill it out and print it.

I played around with this a bit, and found the solution. The problem occurred when I had "Empty Project." I created a new project "Console Application," and then I was able to "load" the Process class/namespace. Can anyone explain to me why this would happen? I did a few searches online, but didn't find much help...
Those who have been using C# for a while, what type of project do you mostly choose that are NOT GUI?

IV does not support any abusive & insulting behaviour towards anyone incuding our worst adversary Lou Dobbs.
Please remember, we do have some members from antiimmigrant groups like numberUSA, who have created similar siyuations in the past.
Financial contribution is no doubt VITAL for our cause but we will never, I repeat never encourage any IV member to spoil their financial security to contribute towards IV. Please do not feel bad if you can not contribute ( we only feel let down by the people, who can contribute but do not do so)

My labor and 140 are approved under EB3 with priority date May 2003. Since Green Card is for future employment can I port my date to EB2 with another company and
a. Not tell my current employer and continue with my job

After the stab at Sony that Canon made in the press release stating they were releasing ~ 20 cameras this year, you don't think they'd let Sony get that far ahead, do you? :p
In my opinion, one of the more intriguing product announcements from Nikon today was the Coolpix 8700. If it improves significantly from the Sony, that could be a killer product. Right now, Canon is lacking a bit in the true consumer DSLR market. But then again, PMA is right around the corner. Is there any law for disabled immigrant. I am 33 years old, and I am disabled, and I am here in US from 1998. I really want to settle down in one place, and it does not matter whether it is India or America but I think I have to make a choice right now, or my future will be a big question mark.
I have waited for a long time, thinking future will be bright, day by day I dont feel I will get my Green Card, So as my lost option I am wondering whether there is any option for disable immigrant? Any help is appreciated.

I dont think there is any special provision for disabled as far as GC is concerned.

1) Since I140 never required the PD to be current how can one explain the backlog on I140 applications? They used to premium process those it in one month.
2) If 180 days pass since the I485 receipt date but I140 is not yet approved can one use AC21 safely?
(I understand the risk of having the I140 denied and being out of status. But aside of that... )
My understanding that the H1B cannot be ported once you have I140 pending without having to redo your I140 and I485.
The lawyers that created those laws must have been on something ...

Unless it is an expired "conditional status" card, your legal status in the US in no way changes. Only the card expires and not your legal LPR status! I don't quite understand what your "mistake on birthday" comment is all about!
You are still a legal permanent resident and can apply for a job proving your eligibility with your Social Security card and valid drivers license/state ID.
Get a new card by filling out form I-90 with USCIS and pay the required fees.

I have the same question. What is the process of renewing once its already expired? Should a new application be submit? Can we do it on our own without going through a lawyer?

I did it myself without a problem. It's the same I-765 form, you just mail a filled-out form, a copy of your existing EAD (front and back), copy of I-485 receipt, 2 photos and a check.

Get the DOL report before u take up the job. DOL will give the estimation for salary....!!!Use it and ask u r company attorney to file for the H1b now its self mentioning the start date as future date (when u r opt expires). Since u work for local government ...governments jobs don't come under H1b quota...so u can apply NOW.
if the DOL report comes out favorable...start the job and can look out for a better opportunity. Trust me u will find one when u have a back up job.

This is standard message when USCIS receives an RFE response. I had the same message when USCIS received my I140 rfe response.
This is in regards to 485-RFE response. Though text remains similar, meaning could have been different.

I have been asked filled out a new I-9 form; I mailed it to my employer along with the copy of approval notice and plastic card.
Thanks Wandmaker. Its clear (I think) what to do if you have the plastic... but what if you only have the approval notice I-797 (not the physical green card) and new EAD/H1B (which is not useful now), and need to file a I-9 because the old one is expiring.
Consider a hypothetical situation : current EAD expires August 20, I-9 expires August 20, have a new EAD valid from August 21 for one more year. And also have an approval notice for the green card but no green card yet. If the plastic doesn't come by Aug 20th, can the I-797 for the green card be used to file I-9 and continue employment? The new EAD is probably not valid anymore.
