Onething I noticed is that most people who are getting approvals, they all have completed their finger printing on or before Aug.

I do not think there will be any issues. It's cheaper for the company to apply for EAD renewal than for H1B extension, though...

Renew you AP before Feb 25, 2009. You are usually paroled upto an year from the date of entry.

Always play safe. Not all the immigration lawyers have the same answers. You might be right on several occasions, but the company will always go with the advice from the company lawyers. I have faced several idiotic decisions from my company lawyers which screwed me up big time in my GC process. But I have always played safe because I need the support from my company. When you take an offer from the new employer you do not know how good/bad are those company attorneys are. So play safe as it will cost you heavily.
NOTE: Having waited for several years with patience, develop the patience to wait for 6-8 months after 485 filing to be on safer side. Also invoking AC21 exactly after 6months does not create a good impression on you from your current employer as well as from the potential future employer. Always have a valid reason for invoking AC21 and do not invoke just because you can invoke. My 2 cents.

A lot of lawyers do not charge money for every question you ask if you are their client. You can easily email them and ask questions or post on their intranet. It is part of their service that helps them get more business.
If your employer is their client, then of course the lawyer may not respond to you. Why should he?
My PD is August 2009 , and i seem to loose patience.....I can imagine how those people who have been in this queue from 4-5 years must be feeling........Lets hope for the best :)

I had a LUD on 10/18 and then today the online status says Document mailed to applicant..hope that is it...my recvd date is 7/2 and recpt date is 9/11

Its kinda confusing and really not that big or sensational.
Nothing sensational here. But it does affect me and all the physicians who have pending NIW based I-485.
I have finished 5 years of NIW service for physician and waiting for visa number (PD 9-2004). I have a conrad 30 related I-140 (approved) / I-485 (pending).

Hi my father lost his passport at the airport today and with it his I94 and US B1 visa. We do have scanned copies of his US Visa and Passport. I would appreciate any pointers on the following question -
1. What are my next steps?
2. I figured from browsing few sites that he needs to apply for I94 - does any one know of any vague ETA there?
3. Would he have to go through his visa stamping again?

There are few steps you have to follow:
1. As the previous post says, report to the nearest police station and get the number.
2. Find which consulate gives service to your state from this URL http://www.indianembassy.org/newsite/consultates.asp
3. Go to their website, and there is an emergency number/lost passport number, call and inform them.
4. You have to fill up the application forms (they will guide you), includes the scanned copies of the old passport and proper fees, overnight to them.
They will process it and issue either a new passport or temporary passport to your father in a quick period of time. It may not be in a week, but surely won't take more than a month.
5. Inform USCIS the same and get guidance from them.
The only issue you have during this process is, he may not be able to travel within US without proper photo ID. You should be ok within your city as he is senior.
Always keep the copy of the scanned passport at hand when going out.

I have been trying hard to get an answer for this question without any luck. My corporate attorney doesn't seem to have the slightest inclination on this subject. I would really appreciate responses.
My case details:

Your wife has valid legal status till July 2008. The Officer at the POE should give the I-94 date as July 2008 as visa is used only for entering the country before June 2007. If the Officer gives June 2007 date, your wife should show the latest I-797 and get the date corrected. My friend has been in the same situation and was given the later date at POE.

Excellent. I am new in this cage..but I am proud to be here. I will definetly donate generously for 4 core for future lobbying. Also I would think..we need 2 avoid anti-immigration media such as CNN etc. I saw WSJ, Business Week, CNBC(Brian William news at 6.30), CNBC Maria, Washington post, New york time and some other local news paper helping us with covergae on this issue. A friend comes here on h-1b. She works for 6 years on h1 and files for adjustment of status. She can't do 7th year due to PERM filed and approved less than a year ago. Now, her H-1B expired and she is her as AOS pending, without H1. Now, she is afraid there may be something wrong with her 485 and wants to switch back to H-1b. Can she do it? Can she do go back to H-1B status? The thing is that now her Perm and I140 are approved and she is entitled to 7th H-1B extension, but she is an "Adjustee". Please let me know if anyone was able to change from AOS to H-1B without leaving the US. Thank you for you info.

Thats what recent approval in last couple of days are indicating..
looks like they are clearing up PD APR-DEC 2005 at both NSC-TSC but slow then pick up from jan-2006
there are not much perm certified in 2005 ...hope you all get it

We are in a peculiar situation regarding our FP. Did you take your FP taken? If so, did you get your file updated sometime after FP was completed? When you gave FP the last time, do you whether they had processed it before the approval?
We had to postpone our 2nd FP in May and gave our prints only in the end of June. I heard that such cases get into delays or problems. The first time over, our FPs were cleared in a week.
